Recovery Services Offered
Recovery from addiction isn’t easy, and no one can recover alone — sometimes you just need a little extra help. Whether it’s the inspiration and encouragement of a sober coach, the camaraderie of a sober companion, the wisdom of a trained interventionist, or expert guidance from our case managers and clinical referral services, Avenues NYC is here to help.
In addition to our men’s and women’s sober livings, Avenues NYC offers residents and offsite clients access to a variety of recovery services in a casual, comfortable, non-clinical environment. Avenues NYC case managers work directly with clients and their families to determine the right combination of services to address critical issues and promote healthy recovery. With daily support options that provide additional peace of mind, inspiration, accountability, structure, and safety, see if Avenues NYC recovery services are right for you or your loved one.
There are many forms of intervention, and not all of them look like what you’ve seen on TV. While intense “confrontation” interventions are a popular and effective way for family and friends to address a loved one’s addiction, there are other less formal types of intervention that may be better suited to a client’s needs. Avenues NYC case managers consult with family members to find the style of intervention that’s best for your loved one. This may include many types of intervention including but not exclusive to crisis intervention, confrontation/family intervention, and early intervention.
It is a common misconception is that interventions can only take place once a loved one reaches a low point or “bottom” in their addiction. However it’s never too early to intervene and try to help someone you love. Early interventions are a great way to jumpstart a loved one’s recovery during the early stages of addiction. Contact one of our case managers to find out if an early intervention is right for your family member or loved one.
The only way to stage a safe, healthy intervention is with the help of experienced, trained professionals like the interventionists at Avenues NYC. From planning the initial organizing stage of the intervention to coordinating advanced treatment and aftercare preparations, Avenues NYC’s interventionists work with case managers to meticulously plan every aspect of your loved one’s intervention, right down to the finest details. Case managers coordinate directly with providers from our network of outside clinicians to ensure a safe and healthy start on the journey through intervention, detox, inpatient treatment, sober living, and aftercare.
Case management is the backbone of Avenues NYC’s recovery services. Case managers work directly with clients, family members, doctors, therapists, clinicians, and other outside service providers to keep clients on track and promote long-term recovery. By helping clients create realistic, achievable recovery goals, case managers keep clients accountable while encouraging improved self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-discipline – three cornerstones of healthy long-term sobriety.
Weekly case manager meetings ensure that clients are staying on track and focused on their recovery goals, while bi-weekly family meetings keep families up to date and informed about their loved ones’ progress on the road to recovery.
When a client’s recovery involves outside help from a clinician, specialist, doctor, therapist, or outpatient facility, case managers assist clients to help ease the process of finding just the right provider for their individual needs. Avenues NYC’s network of recovery professionals features some of the Tri-state Area’s finest health and wellness providers. Avenues NYC case managers work in tandem with these outside clinicians, keeping an open line of communication to ensure accountability, and an in-depth, collaborative recovery process.
Sober coaches provide an additional level of support, motivation, and guidance to clients struggling with the ins and outs of daily sober life. Think of it as a life coach, but with specific experience and expertise in issues and topics dealing directly with recovery. Sober Coaches help clients develop and implement new habits and daily routines that lead to long-term success, such as developing healthy exercise and eating habits, improving spiritual and emotional wellbeing, developing healthy relationships, addressing employment and career issues, furthering education, resolving legal issues, daily scheduling, self-care, and learning new behaviors that facilitate a healthy, happy, sober lifestyle.
Sober Coaches can help take away the guesswork and assist clients in finding the meetings that work for them. When it comes to finding the right support group or recovery fellowship, the number of options available can be overwhelming and intimidating. Sober Coaches use their personal experience in recovery to assist clients in navigating NYC’s vast recovery community to find the right meeting to suit that client’s recovery goals. Whether it’s a 12-step meeting, SMART Recovery, Refuge Recovery, Road Recovery, or non-substance-based fellowships, Avenues NYC sober coaches help clients find the recovery meeting that’s right for them.
Companioning is a sober coaching option that offers 24/7 companionship and guidance for clients in need of additional support in early recovery or crisis moments. This ultimate level of care is crucial for clients who need round-the-clock support, but who may not benefit from checking into a inpatient facility or institution. A sober companion’s job is to provide mobile support and accountability wherever a client may travel, offering guidance, comfort, and confidence during difficult periods of sobriety.
For clients that have travel or business needs, leaving the safety and comfort of a recovery network during early sobriety can be daunting. Avenues NYC’s sober companions are available to accompany clients on business trips and vacations, so clients can travel with peace of mind, knowing that someone will be there to help them through a crisis or moment of weakness.

Avenues NYC provides safe, secure transport for clients in the most perilous moments of early recovery; most often this means transitioning from an inpatient treatment facility into sober living. Without proper support and guidance, this crucial moment can present challenging temptations for clients in early recovery. From the moment they leave treatment to the moment they arrive at the Avenues NYC sober living, our Safe Transport specialists provide clients with safe and supportive companionship to ensure a seamless and safe transition into their newfound sober lifestyle.
With hard work, proper guidance and support, and help from trained professionals, addicts and alcoholics do recover. Clients who are ready for a bit more freedom, independence, and responsibility can maintain their continuum of care and gradually reduce their level of support by choosing aftercare. As clients transition from sober living back into their day-to-day lives, aftercare helps them gain self-confidence without risking a stumble or slip. Aftercare allows clients to choose their own level of support, opting for complete autonomy only when the time is right.
To help ease the transition into a communal sober living environment, Avenues NYC sober living residents are provided with 10 hours of free integration coaching. During integration coaching sessions, new residents receive support, guidance, and helpful information to help navigate the road ahead. These integration sessions are the perfect opportunity to explore Avenues NYC’s surrounding TriBeCa neighborhood, learn to navigate New York City, and become familiar with nearby recovery and support groups. Integration coaching sessions also serve to help new residents become familiar with their new housemates, learn about house rules, and how to avoid the stumbling blocks of early recovery in a sober living environment.
